LACOSTE- THE HERITAGE

It’s time for my second post in collaboration with Lacoste fragances! These shots were taken a warm but windy summer afternoon in the centre of Berlin. Walking around in this skirt makes me feel that I’m a part of something bigger- Lacoste is a brand with such an interesting heritage:
“Rene Lacoste was not only a World Champion tennis player, he was also a true visionary.
In the 1920s, a new wave of female tennis players started to break conventions and reinvent the women’s game. These female tennis players didn’t just excel on the court – they were true free sprits who matched their sporting excellence with a sense of style not seen before. Just as Rene cast off long-sleeved tennis tops, they too rejected the restrained outfits of the day in favor of the shorter, pleated tennis skirt. A garment that would equally allow them full freedom of motion for the first time, the pleated skirt also brought a certain French gracefulness to the game.
Today, the LACOSTE pleated skirt remains a symbol of the freedom to move ahead. In it, the LACOSTE woman can be her most authentic self: Natural and Elegant with Sparkling playfulness.”

I don’t know, I might be silly but I really like to read these kind of brand stories. I think it’s important to always keep the history of things in mind- that’s a good way of keeping your feet on the ground and get perspective of life.
I decided to combine the EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 NATURAL perfume with a look in very natural and clean shades. It felt like a good match- grounded and connected both in mind and looks, haha.

  2. Interesting history – I’d never read that about Lacoste. Your photos are gorgeous – it looks a bit chilly in the photo! And I love that coat.
